A study on the Perceived Role of the Health Information Manager, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Medical Record Technicians

Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the perceived role of medical recorders as health information managers, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The respondents of the survey included medical recorders working in hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province as well as the faculty of medical schools across South Korea. The methods used to analyze the survey include frequency, t-test and ANOVA.
The results of the study are as follows:
1. As for recognition of the seven dimensions in the role of health information managers, the role as clinical data specialist received the most positive feedback, followed by document & repository security officers and research and finally decision support analyst. The result of comparing the necessity of health information managers and how their actual performance benefits hospital found that health information coordinators. data quality managers, research and decision support analysts, security officers and document & repository managers.
2. The level of job satisfaction among medical information handlers and managers averaged 3.14 in average, which is higher than the average. Analysis found that the average level of job satisfaction goes
